Bandwidth is a bitch

by Wessie on March 12, 2011 0 Comments

Bandwidth is a bitch. Due to the horrible horrible bandwidth here at the hotel I'm staying at the broadcast from USTREAM was a bust today, and after hours of trying to find any other way of doing it, I've just decided to make another run at it tomorrow. If I cannot do it tomorrow as well I'll just record a broadcast and post it here for all to see.

Sorry for that, and frankly you can blame the Army and their hotels.

Check it tomorrow.

Ustream tonight topics covered

by Wessie on March 12, 2011 0 Comments

Like I brought out a few days ago, I am starting my new experiment with doing live broadcasts every week or so (whenever I can really) and let you guys know how I feel about the topics. I plan to cover a wide range of topics ranging from: Charlie Sheen (yea yea yea so what), the Japan earthquake, firefly (I've already watched the series again about 3 times), iPad 2, Libya to name a few.

Check in tonight, and I'll let you all know periodically through twitter, facebook, and buzz on when it's going to start. Complete with a link you can follow.

Don't worry, and if you aren't worrying then just know when the broadcast is over with I'll put it up here for replay posterity.

Check in.

The rest of the week: Firefly, Ustream, Stuff

by Wessie on March 9, 2011 0 Comments

Thank you all Browncoats!

I frankly loved the awesome turnout from all over the world regarding my FireFly article, and while it won't certainly be my last, this definitely won't be my only form of article posted to the site. I plan on posting as much as I can about a whole different range of topics, and as long as Military TDY doesn't put too much of a damper on it there shouldn't be too much of an issue at all. I just have a few things that I want to cover, really quick, I promise.

First, going back to the firefly article, I, too would like to appologize to Joss's Sister-in-law (even if she will probably never read this article); I shot out immediately against her in an earlier Facebook post, and after reading what she had to say I decided that I needed ...

So long #HNBFF, the signal cannot stop.

by Wessie on March 8, 2011 3 Comments

Special thanks to my heroes over the last few weeks, The fellows at helpnathanbuyfirefly.com. In what seemed like a dream come true or a movement worth of late-night news, ships came out of the night sky and pulled the community (at least the ones who wanted to come along) into a wild ride.

Nearly a day after opening up the facebook page, there were hundreds, thousands, soon tens of thousands of followers and the number kept climbing like an odometer; the odometer watching us roll. The mystery continued, tweets flying here and there, mysterious facebook posts, ideas of how to fund our idea . . . and not to mention all of the media coverage. Even though I had no part in the actual site, I felt honored to be pushing out the signal as far as I could.

In what seemed like a short hop-skip-and-jump, there was pledge ideas, more ideas ...

FireFly Cookies

by Wessie on March 1, 2011 2 Comments

It has been a while, and quite some time away from my website and I feel that this is a good time to just begin posting stuff now and to find a new groove since the funny stuff in my office has dried up. Here is my new posting, fresh from the web, and the fan movement www.helpnathanbuyfirefly.com.

So here you go guys and I'm not sure if anyone else did this, and frankly it was bugging me ever since the podcast came out on the 28th.

 http://www.nerdist.com/2011/02/nerdist-podcast-65-nathan-fillion/

I heard the recipe over and over and finally I decided to copy it down (and he gets friggin fast all of a sudden) and move to make them as soon as humanly possible. That, however is going to be hard for me since I'm in a low-budget hotel in Oklahoma at ...

More updates

by Wessie on August 27, 2010 0 Comments

I think here in a little bit I am going to start a Ustream for the people who read my blog to be able to ask me questions, Tech, humor, whatever questions you like. I'm not sure when I would do it or when I would start.

I think that would be an awesome Idea, what do the rest of you guys think? Send me a message or comment below. Once you are done with that you can read some more of my stuff under the Confessions link.

Remember, there is nothing I love more than getting an email or a comment or seeing anything in regards to my site show up in my inBox . . . keep it up guys.

More to do

by Wessie on August 23, 2010 0 Comments

Well I'm glad that people continued to come to the site, even while I was doing National Guard Stuff. I'm glad that there are people who still see the site as worthwhile during the dead times when I'm just mentally tired from work, but, if it weren't for my job this site would be a useless shell.

The main point of this is that I'm back and will get into the posting as soon as humanly possible. In Fact, right now I'm supposed to be recovering Hard Drive files of a user . . . sooooo . . . no posts till later. If you guys can wait that long you'll have another one to sink your teeth into.

I got Featured

by Wessie on August 23, 2010 0 Comments

Well, it finally happened, I got featured by the very place that hosts my website. I have honestly tried my hardest to find a website that I love, and to find a topic or topics that make it easy to involve others and I found it this time. Right on the button. I honestly have to think that the best twitter message was the one where Dev Hub asked if they could feature me. From now on I am going to keep up with the topics and keep up with the posting and keep everyone involved. I mean, if they like me, imagine how awesome ANYONE can be at making a website.

As for updates, I have gotten several messages about differing fonts on the website, I think this is dependent ENTIRELY on the browser you use. Mine seems A.O.K. but I'm using FireFox. So to allow ...

New Organization

by Wessie on August 11, 2010 0 Comments

Well, I know I posted it via twitter earlier today, but I have put out a new organizational method to my posts, as well as getting rid of all of the random categories that pertained to the ANDROID_WEMMERT page. Since I was able to pull in that other blog via RSS I deleted the 75 other random categories.

I then went into the rest of my posts and added a few more categories to assist those who want to read them in deciding how they want to read them.

You have the Welcome category, which will filter out the blogs from this page you are on now, Conversations will filter all of the tech humor confessions all at once. Rants and Raves, Stories, thoughts, and Why filter out certain blogs that pertain to those specifically.

I am continually working to make this site easy to look at and easier to ...

Before you flip your lid, read this :)

by Wessie on August 10, 2010 0 Comments

Please note, before anyone flips their lid and says, "Why, where did all of the stories go!?" I've moved them to their own dedicated page HERE or if you are looking at the navigation bar it is the one titled "Confessions" for further reference to you faithful readers.

A little side note as to why. When I started the site I wanted the information to be readily accessible to everyone who stumbled onto the site so they could see right off the bat (and down a few posts) just what I had to offer. Now that the site traffic is more consistent: people coming back, new people coming in, and link followers, I felt it was pertinent to move it to it's very own page . . . free from the home page announcements.

Nothing has changed in the slightest, just a new location in the room so to speak. Thank ...
